How do you upload an image? If I click onto Image, it brings up the letters [img] but doesn't have anything to click onto to browse and upload the image, so how does image get uploaded?

We killed off our old image uploader, as it was slow and very unreliable. You can upload to Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, or any of hundreds of image sites and then use the IMG /IMG tags around the URL of the pic.

I hope to get a new image storage app added to the site in the coming months.

    flickr.com and freeimagehosting.com are good.

They give you the html and you just cut and paste them using the discussion board sample

When linking images, be sure to use the IMG version of their link, not the html link. That way your picture will show up in the post. Using the html link with just create a link.

    Q. How to use the Image tags to show a picture inline in the Post ?

    [img]http://www.flickr.com/photos/83444344@N05/7645200970/in/set-72157630748832672[/img]

I tried to use [img] ... [/img] above but NO image, these tags are inserted when clicking the Image Button

    I'm lost, please advise :)

NOTE: testing the @Mention for: @Jon Holdman ( when typing @J the list only shows Joshua so NOT all the posters in this thread show and the logic only finds the first poster with a @J ... )
The life of a Web Programmer is NOT so easy :)

    Thanks, Rich C

    Like that?

Navigate to your picture on Flickr. Click "Share". Then click on the "Grab the HTML/BBCode". That gets you a long string that includes the extra info above. If you want just the picture, trim out everything except what's between [ img ] and [ /img ]. There won't be any spaces in what you see, but if I leave those out this post won't post correctly.

Yeah, I really like it !
NOTE: you have to choose the BBCode radio button and not the HTML option
    to cut and paste

I got a photo on how to use the @mention feature here in a reply post

Jon Holdman THANK YOU!! I use images on my website, and Facebook, but couldn't figure out how to do them on here. I'll print this out now, and when I need it, I'll have it. Though.... the idea of a video for posting pics and links would probably be helpful to alot of posters. Joshua Dorkin Maybe that could be a part of the interactive guide?

Karen M. - That's a completely different guide. The one we're working on is to teach people to invest. I've got one for using the site, but it just needs a little cleanup....

Does the IMG tag here on BP support "height" and "width" properties? Or do we have to scale the image first?

Also, does anyone know the width of the post reading space, to give an idea of the maximum width of an image without having it do weird things to the reading area?
