Does anyone here have a business plan?

I mean, a formal business plan in writing that they wrote for their business?

A business plan that can be used to run and guide your business, get bank credit lines, and to show private funding sources that you are a serious investor?

    Not only do I have a business plan, mission, etc, but it is one that I updated at least yearly if not every 6 months.

    If you do not have one, folks, you need to get one. Real Estate is not a HOBBY, it is a business!!

    I'm in the process of writting a business plan right now. I've written plans in the past (non-real estate) and I think that the one of the best resources is multi-volume business plans books that can be found on reserve at most universities. I made a copy of 5 or 6 plans of real estate compaines, real estate investment companies, and real estate rehabilitation companies. Its a great springboard.

    I would be happy to do it privately, It's not a conversation for public consumption at this time. Some of model is proprietary.

    Maybe you could scrub the real estate investing plan of the proprietary stuff and share with us the general aspects. I'm sure many others would appreciate it.

    I've really enjoyed reading your blog Jason. The breakdown on the various ratios in your Financial Analysis Summary was so helpful and really tied it all together. Great work.

    I would also recommend MikeOH's business plan (which is in his book). I used that as a basis when creating mine.
