Physician real estate investor looking for mentorship

Aloha!

I'm a physician here on Oahu looking to diversify and gain more financial independence through real estate investing.  Can anyone recommend think-groups , real estate investing meetup groups that i could join to try to build my network?

any advice is greatly appreciated!

     You need someone who understands the tax ramifications of your goals. Someone who has done what you want to do and can explain the process to you. Someone who's been at this for a long time. It's unlikely you can learn to do this on your own without compromising your primary career. There is a lot of fluff in the industry and people who got into the industry after 2008 are all "geniuses" in real estate (the market has only gone up since 2009 ;-)

    We've hit a change in the market. It will take skill and experience to navigate it and come out ahead.

    So, with that in mind, what questions can I answer for you?

    Check out SemiRetired MD website. Their mission is to help doctors and their families achieve financial freedom through real estate. This could be a great resource to get you connected to a network of physicians already doing what you want to do in real estate.

    You can find information on local meetups under Network > Meetups > enter your zip code.

    Hi Matt,

     I agree that finding a local meetup is a great way to start. If you're looking to diversify outside of real estate or trying to find ways to capitalize on your education I would check out white coat investor. I referred a lot of dentists I worked with to them since the focus was on more passive income or creating a more profitable practice.

    As a healthcare professional would recommend White Coat Investors, exclusive investor group online that is comprised of only physicians, dentists etc.
