What do your Business cards, Flyers and Signs say?

i need to figure out the absolute best way to word my advertisements before i go and make hundreds of them. what do yours say?

the only signs i've seen are, "Avoid Foreclosure 123-1234" and the classic, boring, "We Buy Houses 123-1234." I've never seen any REI's flyers or business cards..

Hey, another Jacksonvillian, nice to meet ya. I actually just ordered some cards myself. My cards contained this info:

We Buy Houses and Solve Problems!

    Name
    Real Estate Consultant

24 hour, no pressure info line:
    800 number
    email address

    No Obligations or Fees
    All Situations Considered

While many things can work there is no absolute best in all cases.

You should assume that over time you need to test alternatives. You use the existing ad as the control and then try an alternative. Measure response rate and quality. Fewer calls but more deals is an example where quality matters even if the quantity drops.

It is standard direct response information (testing, etc). You can pick up a book at the library to give you more ideas.

Note that the best ad for you might be the ad that is not like the others if your area is full of a certain type of sign. Or it is the same message but in a different position. Signs on a van parked at WalMart can attract a particular demographic when looking for sellers. The same with advertising a specific add on TV next to certain shows. Placement matters.

bandit signs are easy. it's flyers that need the most help on. i need an example that i can then modify. basically a template that's been working for you.

I have found that quick and to the point works the best. Not too much information or too many graphics. The focal point should be where to get in touch with you ie: phone number, web site. It depends on where you are advertising. On the road or billboards, this is more important.

The best thing to do is keep your print runs low, try a few different designs and see what works best for you. One trick direct marketers use is to alter one bit of contact info (like a box #, or phone extension). That way they can track the performance of their campaigns.

    Good luck!

    Two things.

    1. Honestly help them. It never hurts to talk and you might do some good.

In many cases even if they work it out this time they or someone they know might want to talk again in the future. Many folks who get into a jam will get into another one unless they really turn around their situation.

    2. Taking a referral fee from a mortgage broker can be illegal. In CA the mortgage brokers are licensed RE agents. Most states do not allow a RE agent to pay a non-licensed individual for helping a deal happen.

Some of the time the best way to 'collect' is to expect nothing other than priority assistance when you need to apply for a loan. You might also get referrals when the mortgage broker has a prospect they can not help.
