All, can you recommend any types of movies, where one of the topics are life around the Real estates investing matters on US market? Not Only documentary, but any commedies, etc I can also consider to watch:)

    @Matthew Irish-Jones big short is pretty nice but its rather about speculation on wall street. So pure graphs not reality in REI I think...馃槑

    @Ned J. More people should watch that movie.  Everyone hears the old school rule of "never let your tenant know your business more than you" and the term "professional tenant" but no one realizes what it means.  Watch that movie and you will understand.  Get a professional tenant who knows the law more than you do and you can end up with something like that.  It's an exaggeration from what I remember, but it gives the general idea of how someone can stay in your place causing havoc for a long time when you don't know what you are doing.

    The Big Short is one of my all time favorites. I really loved The Founder as well, which is about how Ray Kroc built the McDonalds we know today. I liked The Founder so much I recently just finished reading Grinding It Out, which is Kroc's autobiography.

    "Glengarry Glen Ross" is my personal favorite. It's the move that brought us the classic Alec Baldwin line, "Put the coffee down.  Coffee is for closers!"

    Would Happy Gilmore count as a real estate movie? After all, his entire motivation was to get the house back for his Grandma.

    Also, Shooter McGavin does real estate speculation as a hobby. I guess he's just looking for a place to park his money and hope for appreciation as he probably doesn't need cash flow right now. 馃槑

    I recently saw 5 Flights Up. ehhh, it was just OK, but the entire movie did center around an older couple and their attempts to sell a NY property that they lived in for a very long time.

    Here's one EVERY real-estate investor should watch.  The Super, starring Joe Pesci.  It was made in 1991 and its basically Joe Pesci as the son of a slum lord.  It features lines like "When do you buy a piece of real estate?  Death, divorce, and debt."  "What do you do when you get a piece of property?  ABSOULTELY NOTHING!"  "Every tenant you have is an enemy."

    But mostly its about Joe Pesci being forced (by court order) to live in one of his own units for 3 months and having to adapt to a "lower" style of living.  Remember, this was made in 1991.
