I'm in the process of creating my LLC in Minnesota and I see LLC owners' names and addresses on the secretary of state website. Is it possible to create my LLC so that my address and name are not visible when people do a search of my LCC name, whether they search via the secretary of state website or via any other method?
First, form a Wyoming LLC, following methods of doing so remotely, which is an anonymous member filling.
Then, file for MN LLC, with the Wyoming LLC being the owner of said LLC. When MN LLC is searched it will follow bread-crumbs to the dead-end in Wyoming, which has strongest protections in country.
No method used in MN will protect your identity, it's a MN thing.

Most states require that this information be a part of the public record. To my knowledge New Mexico and maybe a few other states allow full anonymous LLCs. You could think about having a different address in your articles of organization as well as a different registered agent. I would call your States business and regulatory affairs office to see what your options are.

@Janel York You could hire an attorney to create your LLC and be your "registered agent" which would be the information shown on the public records, the address for your LLC would be the attorney's office. This would cost you around $500 but that could be a way to go around it.

@Daniel Anshus - Secretary of state office has told me a P.O. box is not allowed. Can you share what information you have that says a P.O. box address is allowed?

Thank you, @James Hamling. I knew that Wyoming allowed for an anonymous LLC, but I didn't know I would be able to file for a Wyoming LLC as a Minnesota resident.

Asset protection is of interest to me as well. I recently had a phone consult with a business advisor agency, they basically recommended the same. Umbrella LLC in WY, then MN LLC for properties. I'm now looking at a potential opportunity for my first property deal in January and trying to decide when to take the advice to create a LLC structure now or later when I have more properties.

If that's what the SOS is saying i am incorrect. I was told that you can, maybe that's only if a po box is your only source of mail?
