Hello! My wife and I recently moved to Corning, NY and are planning to start our REI journey here in the next few months. Our first goal is to buy a duplex or triplex and househack it. If we like the landlord lifestyle, we'll try for a few more small multifamilies in the area.

Right now I'm looking to build our network, so if you're in the area please say hi! Since we're new to the area we'd love to hear the local real estate dope -- gotchas, strategies that work, good contractors, and all that kind of stuff.

We also need a recommendation for an investor-friendly realtor in the area -- please let me know if you have one.

Hey Blake, my girlfriend and I moved into the area last year so we are pretty new as well. We just started in the game so I dont have a whole lot to offer you other than a few names that have been helpful for us and myself as a contact. Vincent DiLaura is a great realtor that we worked with to get our first place. Another realtor we met with briefly is Micheal Terwilliger with Keller Williams realty, when we told him we were interested in investing he hooked us up with a free copy of The Millionaires Guide to REI.
