I am on a couple of other forums that have a "polling" option. It allows posters to pose a question, with custom multiple response options they create, to their selected subforum. Respondents can select their response to the poll anonymously, and do not necessarily need to reply with a response. They can simply add a new comment to the thread as usual. Respondents/Readers cannot view the "results" at that moment until/unless, they respond to the poll.
