Shout out to the people willing to help! Not selling courses, but are willing to hop on a 10 min call to give advice or direction!!!!
issue with Free advice is its only worth what your paying for it Nothing.. there are 50 states with 50 different sets of rules for most RE.. So many times you have comments from folks on BP that mean well but they are in completely different markets and give some really poor advice so one needs to use caution with this type of advice.
@Jay Hinrichs - this is so true. Not only a state-by-state thing or a region-by-region, but also an individual person's overall life. For example, a person with three little kids is most likely not going to house hack.
People in the South typically have no idea how to winterize a property or deal with oil heating a home or deal with sump pumps in a basement. Whereas in other places radon is common, in others it's not.
Then there are legal components, such as in lending and having borrowers sign a confession of judgment, which on the East Coast is very common and people on the West Coast have no idea what I'm talking about.
there is a ton of information and you just have to understand what is good and what is not good. That is a hard part about having too much information

Absolutely. Those quick conversations can make a huge difference, especially for newer investors. A lot of people in this community are generous with their time and experience, and that kind of support is what makes forums like this so valuable.
yall 😂 this isn't FB it's just a shoutout to those willing to help. Point people in the right direction, offer to answer simple questions. When I started I had to ask around and thankfully received some good advice so I'm glad to help everyone and anyone with basic questions now!
I’ve seen investors lose deals simply because they didn’t ask for help.
The BiggerPockets community is full of experienced people.
Sometimes one conversation can save you months of trial and error.
such a balance though - sometimes lessons can only really truly be learned by "doing" and learning from the actual experience. I think thats why its always smart to "just get started" with a very small deal as a learning experience, so even if (when) things go wrong, you get those actual lessons learned out of the way with low downside and your future deals / conversations will be more meaningful

Good point, Robin. There’s definitely a lot you only learn by actually doing deals. Starting small to gain that experience is smart, and combining that with advice from people who’ve already been through it can help avoid some of the bigger mistakes.
Agreed. It depends What the investor needs help on but yes. The goal of an investor is to be resourceful and if you aren't, you're going to have some issues.
