Seller as if I am a Wholesaler, how do I respond?

Question

I reached out to an AD on craigslist and made an offer with the intention to get it under contract to assign to a  cash buyer.

The seller responded and asked if I was a cash buyer or wholesaler, I am not sure if I should reveal that yes my intentions is to wholesale.

Always be ethical and just be honest. If you’re looking to assign it just let him know you may have a buyer, and if you do, I’m sure he’ll respect you being straight up from the beginning and maybe work with you. If you lie right out the gate, why should he even bother working with you. Lies in the beginning means there will be more lies down the road, and in my experience it’s not even worth the hassle. It only pisses people off when you lie and waste their time. Just be straight up when you meet people and more often than not they’ll respect that and likely work with you. At least that’s where I stand, but I’ve encountered several others in the past that work with a completely different set of ethics in this business.....

It’s an ad on Craigslist, you’re probably talking to another Wholesaler who knows the game you’re trying to play.

@Francisco Rivera. If you’re both wholesalers I find that kind of ironic.  @Jay Hinrichs has talked about these daisy chain wholesale deals before, maybe this now they happen?

I personally don’t really know any legitimate cash buyers who are advertising on Craigslist.

Also don’t complicate this, just answer truthfully

If you are able to close and you will buy the property anyway then flip it there is no need to identify yourself as a wholesaler. If you are trying to tie it up and will more than likely fail to sell it then you should disclose it.
