Just a light hearted conversation starter here.... when do/did you consider yourself not a newbie anymore in real estate investing? Was it after your first, fifth, 20th? I
I hope to be constantly learning and in some areas feel that I am still a newbie even though I have done this for a long time.
However, when I have had multiple inquiries about mentoring RE investors, it makes me feel like an expert. I am on my second protégé. My first protégé has 3 properties (5 units) in expensive San Diego county. He is now a competitor in my market. My second protégé has zero properties and has not been as eager as the first protégé. The first protégé, when I asked him to do something, it was always done ASAP. The second protégé has yet to complete one of the first things I asked them to do.
