Some builders seem hostile towards having home inspectors perform thorough home inspections. Would love to know which builders other than Lennar are welcoming of complete inspections?

Some builders are definitely more inspection-friendly than others. In general, companies like David Weekley, Taylor Morrison, Pulte, Ashton Woods, and Meritage tend to be more open to buyers bringing in third-party inspectors, whereas other builders like D.R. Horton, KB Home, and Richmond American sometimes make it harder. It can vary by region, so it’s smart to ask upfront and get any inspection permissions in writing early in the process.

The more homes the build, the more hostile they are towards inspectors. When you build a 100 homes at once as a publicly traded company with a fiduciary duty to shareholders (not their home buyers!) there will always be issuing with scaling and things falling through the cracks. New construction is nice, but if you are Bigger Pockets in depth, you would never buy a new construction house from a 3rd party. You would renovate something or go GUC yourself.
