Post # 6 on my duplex construction project.
Builder asked me a question this week about locating the gas meters. He suggests putting them on one side of the duplex making it a one-stop trip for the meter reader. However, this seems like it could cause issues between the tenants. Based on suggestion from here, I'm already going to put a rock strip down the center of the driveway to make it very obvious where the driveway ends for each side. However, same issue for the gas meter?
Separate water meters will be out at the street, so no issue there.
I agree with the builder. I'm not sure why it would cause issues with the tenants, they're usually not reading the meters (or know how to read them/care to)...the meter-reader is.

Good afternoon. I am actually a Sr. Project manager for a submetering company. I would agree with the builder. Put them all in one location so any readers would be able to find them with no issues.
Future considerations are, in the event the meters should go bad and get changed out, the repairs are held to 1 location on the property. Plumbers are messy men and you don’t want them trampling all over your property if you can help it.
