Welcome to Florida,

I just created Quixsale to help solve problems we all have with making connections, finding deals, and staying up to date with the latest market and trends. It's all member-driven and all in 1 place.

We have a great launch and Beta-Test promotion going on now; everyone joining during this event will be Co-Founder.

Hope to see you there, and best of luck to you.

Hi @Michael Lipford nice to meet you here on BP! The biggest value usually comes from being clear on your goals, numbers, and strategy so the right mentors and partners can find you. What type of investing are you most interested in right now?

@G. Brian Davis thanks for the response!

My goals are a little foggy at the moment, i own one STR in st pete and would love to continue that route but the money needed is a little out of range at the moment so im trying to build that up currently. I left my very good paying job when i moved and work for myself now so the more connections i make the more doors i can open for myself. I sold my property that i had in maryland for the last 7 years so i have a some money to work with, but im trying to get creative here on my next move. Possible partnerships on a multifamily, or really partnerships on anything to raise some capital, possibly a flip if the numbers work. Currently trying to lock in on a clear goal here and learn as much as possible from successful investors so i can shoot myself in the right direction. I would say that multifamily investing sparks the biggest interest currently, and building a network that allows me to excel that route is my top priority.

Michael, congratulations on taking the step to continue your real estate journey. That is an exciting move. Tampa has a very active real estate and investor community, so you are in a great market to build relationships and find mentorship. I recommend starting with local REIAs, BiggerPockets meetups and investor-focused networking events. Many are posted on Meetup and Eventbrite and tend to attract experienced operators as well as newer investors. Builder open houses, lender hosted events and brokerage trainings can also be valuable for making higher quality connections.

My advice would be to get very clear on your goals, especially as we head into the new year and focus on how you can add value to others, not just what you hope to gain. That approach tends to open doors much more quickly.

Wishing you both success in this next chapter and best of luck building your network in Tampa.

Michael, super exciting move into the Tampa area. Looking forward to seeing what direction you move in. If you move in a direction that requires qualifying tenants, let me know. I work connecting STR operators with landlords as an alternative tenant model.

@Michael Lipford One thing you might consider is the HUD foreclosed house list. Many of their houses on the list qualify for $100 down payment, which makes it easy to get into the property. To take advantage of this program, you have to move into the property and live there as your primary residence. There are currently 67 homes available on the HUD list today. We bought 2 properties from HUD this year.

Hey Michael, welcome to Tampa and congrats on the move. You’re in a great market with a lot of opportunity if you play it smart. I’ve been in the business about 25 years now, I’m a licensed broker, work with 40+ investor-focused agents, and our team manages 300+ properties across the area. I’ve seen a lot of cycles and made plenty of mistakes along the way, so I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. If you want advice, connections, or just to talk strategy, feel free to reach out. Always glad to help someone getting started here.

Welcome to the area. Happy to connect. For the moment focused on STRs and looking into some flex space opportunities.

    Hey Michael,

Welcome to the BiggerPockets community! A couple ways to get started:

    1. Connect locally. Check out local REI meetups and groups in Tampa. You should find a few that host regular networking events, workshops, etc. Meeting people in person is a great way to build relationships, find mentors, and even discover deals.

    2. Learn the strategies. Spend some time reading about different types of real estate investments: BRRRR, fix & flip, buy-and-hold, house hacking, and more. This will help you figure out which strategies align with your risk tolerance, goals, and timeline. Understanding the strategies early will help you make informed decisions when opportunities come up.

    3. Keep engaging online! Places like this are great for asking questions, sharing insights, and connecting with investors and other professionals in the field.

Once you start attending events and reading up, you’ll start spotting the right opportunities for your goals.

    Hey Michael,

Tampa Local here, would love to meet. I would also reccomend the elite investor meetup if you are looking for meetups
