After watching a YouTube video from Ken McElroy stating 2020 is a wash, 2021 is the time to save up, and 2022 is likely the time to buy (when properties shift from motivated sellers to foreclosures to REO) I decided to redirect some recent Real Estate proceeds out of a 1031 into BTC.
My question is how much Cryptocurency do you personally feel is the right percentage for your investment mix (that is, if you have crypto)?
I have done pretty well buying and selling bitcoin and other crypto’s this year. I have about a 23% return
Bitcoin right now is at an all time high going over 20k today hitting 21k early afternoon. Forecasters are saying could hit 100k but no one knows when
Yeah the % numbers seem a little nuts. Some Wall Street forecasters claim 100K to 300K with about an average of 150k by end of 2021. That bitcoin mining stock I switched to and out from gold mining has 2X in less than a month if that is any indicator. Few know about it yet though. High risk territory. Tulips R Us.
Yup, got a bit of cryptos too, it seems that high net worth individuals/investment funds are moving into there too. So far it's making money, with a volatile correction here and there...
Because the asset is still relatively new, the market cap - even at $435B, is still nothing huge. But remember, the market cap at the end of September was $189B. $150K by the end of next year would not be the biggest gain, percentage wise, BTC has experienced in a 12 month period.
Anything can happen. As the market cap grows, the volatility will lessen. What it needs is more high worth individuals and multiple hedge funds, pensions, insurance companies, which seem to be streaming in. Right now, a large buyer of BTC might be able to swing the price, but it would not last long.
I transfer up to 10% of my investments into bitcoin every six months. Each time it is a different percentage depending on the situation at the moment. I read here that many people think it is not reasonable to transfer investments in bitcoins. They can be understood. Still, any option of investing there is a risk. For myself, I decided that I invest in buying stocks 13-15% of my income every month, and once every six months in bitcoins. For me, investing-create a safety cushion, and I see nothing wrong with investing in different options (especially since I always have my primary income).
I think having some Bitcoin in your investment mix makes sense, especially as a hedge against inflation and market instability. Personally, I keep around 10-15% of my portfolio in crypto, but that mix includes more than just Bitcoin. I switched a portion to Solana because of the faster network and lower fees, which makes it more practical for frequent use.
One tool I came across while working with Solana is the Raydium Bundler, which is great for managing multiple wallets simultaneously. It also lets you create a market ID for just 0.3 SOL instead of the usual 3 SOL, making launches much more efficient. You can find more details here: https://solana-scripts.com/solana-bundler.
