What’s up BP! I seen a single family home in a good location with a decent price. If I was to get the 2 car garage converted and rent out the garage. Will this turn the property to be undesirable? Or when trying to resell down the road? What are the cons?
Seems like more work and risk than it's worth. Could run into problems with zoning laws.
@Matthew Crivelli my location is Northern California and the laws have changed to allow residential zoning for Adu builds
@Jonathon Nila It should only increase the value. However, depending on the location it can make parking more difficult. I did find it surprising that the ADU law allowed the conversion (I think this would be a JADU) without regard to replacing the lost parking. The legislature clearly valued the infill potential more than the potential impact on neighbors.
