Does a solar panel add value to a property?

I have not personally found that solar panels are perceived as added value by a buyer. I have sold two houses with solar panels and I was not able raise the price of the house in relation to what the solar panels cost.

No. Sometimes they don’t subtract from value, sometimes they do. (Like if it requires the buyer to take over a lease or loan on them.)

No. 20 year payback. You need a new roof to start.  Do it for your home to enjoy doing something good for hge planet.

No, the average renter in an average isn't seeking solar panels as a selling point for a home of interest.

I don't even know of the average buyer is at that point yet either to be honest.
