16 Year Old Getting Into Real Estate - Mentor?

16 Year Old Getting Into Real Estate - Mentor?

Before anyone judges me for the fact that I am only 16 years old, I'd like you guys to hear me out. I live in a suburban environment south of Seattle, and I've gotten tired of letting others control the way I live my life. Ever since a young age, I have always wanted to be successful. "But how, and from what"? Those words are constantly in my head because I haven't even skimmed to opportunities in life that are there. All that I'm asking is that if anyone see's this, that you would give me some tips on how to invest in real estate, or any tips for starting off. I'm not totally sure how this would work out, but I would work for you in any way that I could if you could teach me you ways of making cash. I want to become financially independent and I can not think of a better time than now. I've been saving up my money, and I know for a fact I will become a millionaire and successful some point in life, but for when that will actually happen only the lord knows. Nothing can stop me, and from everything I've read, I need a mentor of some kind to help me through this to help me achieve greatness and become smarter with your knowledge. If you would like to help me out, or give me some valuable tips as I'm sure many of you guys have, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that many of you might be snickering at what only a 16 year old kid can do, but I have the hunger of getting knowledge and coin. Thank you so much - Casey

...I know I'm not allowed to ask for mentors as this I guess I am indeed going against some of the guidelines, but I literally have no connections to anything that is going on in this area. Anyways thank you for taking the time to read this cumbersome article.

Casey!

I LOVE you!  You are exactly where you need to be!  Don't let anyone tell you that you can't buy a property.

Here is a story of a 14 year old girl who bought a 100k house in Florida for $14k.  She bought the home with her mom signing, and they remodeled it, and are now renting it for $700 per month.

She is a landlord at FOURTEEN!!

Study, learn wholesaling.  You can find motivated sellers, and work together with a mentor in your area that is trusted, or your parents if you can show them how it works!

You are smart enough, and ambitious enough!  There is no stopping you!  Follow the blogs you see in people's addresses, as well as the BP Forums and you will learn the sales skills you need to be ready when the time comes!

Please keep in touch with me.  I would love to interview you on your first deal!

Have a POWERFUL Sales Day!

Congratulations on your drive! If you decide getting a real estate license will be part of your plan, some states allow you ti do the preliminary training & testing prior to turning 18.

Wow!  A great time to start. I'm teaching both my teenagers the business.  One seems more interested!  Learn/Network/Take action!!

@Account Closed theres a lot of great advice here and i wish i was a focused a few years ago and was able to take advantage like i should have but anyways JUST GO GET A JOB... 2 things are great when starting out in REI and they are CAPITAL and EXPERIENCE...

There are so many different routes to becoming successful and yea many successful investors will only take on managerial aspects and hire out all the work so they can manage more projects and make more money but unless you have a trust fund you forgot to mention every dollar you save on your first flips you will be putting into your profit so get a job for a flooring company or a plumber or both so you can lay tiles and re do a bathroom yourself instead of hiring it out.... Painting is easy you can always start of with a contractor assisting in the painting and hopefully you can learn all the different areas of a good remodel...

GOOD LUCK MAN and SAVE UP THAT CASH THAT YOU MAKE

I'm glad to hear you wanting to get into this world so early. It is a breath of fresh air knowing others have the desire to gain wealth through real estate and you actually make me jealous that you want to get started so early (good thing). If you need any help on wholesaling which is the BEST WAY to get money in real estate starting off if you don't have the funds yourself to start towards the other money making avenues of real estate, I'm here. I personally have started wholesaling last year June and go my first wholesale deal done September... you can do it sooner than me with the right STEPS given to you. Many of these gurus give information but never give specific steps you need to do to make things happen. Holla at me and I'll guide you along with someone you trust over the age of 18.

You might not be able to buy property yet, but you can start studying for your real estate license.

There are some things in life that you have the rest of your life to do and it is almost never too late to start and still do great. Investing in real estate is one of them.

Then there are those things that you  really should do at a young age to get the most out of and will help bail you out in case plan A goes south. Getting an education would be one of them.

I've not read the thread but before you follow anybody's encouragement to proceed  down this path I'd ask them if they have children your age in college and if so why.
