Ice Maker Maintenance/Replacement

Hi guys, I'm a property manager of a small portfolio of new construction townhomes. All of the homes are brand new with new appliances and we've had a few ice makers stop working right outside of the warranty window in our Whirlpool fridges. It's a bit of a costly repair relative to the price of the fridge - they need to be replaced for around $500. Does anyone have a more budget friendly option?
