Want to set up a NY Meet-up for us fellow Long Island 

Would love to hear some feedback from some people of somethings we can talk about and give it a little struct.

Post it here and if we get some good traction I will set up a time and place.

    @Brian Lee I have a few rental permits in Town of Brookhaven, as well as section 8.  Not sure if it is enforced but as you can imagine it's just a pain to get it.  You'll also require a rental permit if you want to do section 8.  Most annoying thing is probably the survey.  If there is one on file with the town, that's great you can get it for free using FOIL.  (https://www.brookhaven.org/Departments/Law-Departm...)  If they don't have it on file you'll have to pay to get it done.

    As for exact docs see below link.  Basically, you need everything stated otherwise you're not getting a permit.  Once you provide the docs, they give you a temporary permit which is valid for 90 days if I remember correctly.  Once you have that they'll send an inspector out.  As someone else stated, you can call them and they'll tell you exactly.  Took me a couple of trips back and fourth to get it done.
