Furnishing bedrooms in STR

I'm new to STR in this area and am noticing most homes have the basic metal bedframe with no headboard. Curious if this is standard around the country. I was going to purchase upholstered headboards/bedframes because that's my personal preference for decor, am I missing some critical reason people don't do this?

I much prefer a headboard, a bed looks cheap without one. I’m not going to put fabric ones in a rental though, because I’m afraid the fabric could get dirty from hair oil or dye and be hard to clean.

I personally always do headboards on all my STR - some are fabric, some metal, some wood - depending on decor. I think it's your personal preference on how you want to decorate.

What I always like to do is get on Facebook and create a poll for that area. There’s always Facebook groups in different areas. I will ask common questions like this, headboard or no headboard? You will be surprised at how many people answer and new ideas that you get.

I bought some 1x8's and built my own headboards with shelving. It's not rocket science mayne.

Depends on your market and target guests. I don't think a headboard costs much more so it just depends on if it will generate higher rents and more occupancy for your specific STR.

Head board would be personal preference. I tend to not spend money on things that I don't feel as value or add more money. I do buy quality furniture for my STRs because I want it to last. 1 tip I buy down comforters with duvet covers. The comforters were wearing out fast and looked bad with all the washes. Now I just have my cleaning people wash the duvet covers. Cheaper to replace the cover as well.

These platform beds were perfect for our STR and do not wobble or sag. zinus tonja platform beds with headboard. Agree that fabric headboard is problematic for bedbugs and stains.

Absolute yes on headboards! I'd avoid fabric or anything else that makes cleaning more difficult....

Full beds. Head and foot boards. Come on people! If it looks cheap, the place is cheap and that is not the route to 5 star reviews. Over deliver on everything possible.
Looky that! Thomasville country collection or something like that. Made in the USA from solid yellow pine. $30 on Craigslist. Headboard, footboard, rails and slats. Just keep a lookout and you will find USA made stuff that is awesome for pennies.
As for the quilts/comforters, that one is 5 years old. Washed all the time. Looks exactly the same as when it was new. Charisma brand from Costco. It is a lightweight comforter, hangs really nice on the beds and wear like iron.

Wouldn't bed bugs live in mattresses too? I had LTR where the tenants brought in bedbugs, but it was thier own furniture...

Headboards will typically make it look a little nicer. We have one on our STR and haven't had any complaints. I'm sure it just depends on the style of the space and the bed on if it fits. At the end of the day, as long as everything looks quality, I think you'll be fine.
