Do you put Christmas trees or other decorations in your STRs?

Question

Most of my places have a utility closet with a 3 foot pre-lit artificial tree. It's up to the tenants to put it up. Some other places have Christmas lights on the deck that have been up for 5 years. What do you have?

It's a personal choice. I could see some people liking it, some indifferent, and some would look elsewhere because they don't celebrate Christmas.

I had 2 guys build a Christmas tree out of Budweiser cans in one of my places. Probably 200 cans in the tree. It must have taken them a week to do that.

Yes sir! Christmas trees are the minimum but some of my cabins are decked out. Just depends on the per night price point.

Yep its kind of expected in my market. The guests do ask if it will be decorated for Christmas.

My wonderful neighbors put up a tree for me as I don't live anywhere near. My first guests to see it commented how lovely it was and made them feel at home.

We do put up a tree and decorate the main floor. We have a bunch of items to put out. We don't have a booking for Christmas yet and might not get one. Bummer.

I just finished decorating all our cabins today. Have a property out of state the cleaner will set up for me. Just a tree with simple ornaments, something for the centerpiece of the table, a cute wreath on the door, and holiday print oven mitts and kitchen towels. People love it and ask if it will be there before they book in December. But it’s pretty simple!
