Connecting with STR/MTR Investors in Charlotte

Hi everyone!

I am a new investor. I've been standing at the edge of the pool, learning and listening for YEARS. Now is time to just jump in and get this thing going! I'm interested in STR or MTR investing. My plan is to start with arbitrage to build some capital to fund down payments. I'd love to connect with investors in Charlotte or surrounding areas to learn and provide help where I can. I have graphic design/marketing skills (current job) and interior design skills (Interior Architecture degree and former stager). I know that building community is one of the most important things, so I look forward to connecting!

Im pretty sure we have the largest short term investor meetup group that meets regularly in Charlotte. We’re at heist brewery in NoDa tonight at 6:30. You can find the event on Facebook.

Hey @Charese Allen, do a search on arbitrage to get the general idea on that subject.
Check FB to see if there is a REI group and there should be.

I would search FB for arbitrage groups, you likely won’t find much here.
You can probably also find some market specific groups as well.

Welcome @Charese Allen! Charlotte is a great market - NC in general is booming! We just bought an STR in Lake Lure. I know there are REI meetups in Charlotte - there's a group that posts here on the forums so search for that and I'm sure you'll find it. If you're looking to get into STR or MTR you're already several steps ahead of the competition with your design background. Especially in the MTR space there are a ton of outdated properties that won't do well without a refresh given the competition that is turning to this niche. If you haven't already, check out Furnished Finder and search Charlotte (if that's where you intend to invest) to see what I mean. If you're looking to pick up design clients you might also join some of the STR forums on social media because I constantly see hosts asking for help with their properties. Best of luck to you!

Is Charlotte over populated with STR or is it still a good place to get going and find Apartments to
arbitrage?
