Hey all, I’ve had some trouble with getting views on my Airbnb listing; the view count has dipped pretty steeply starting this year. What strategies have you found successful when promoting your short term rental to the top of the Airbnb lists? I’d love to implement some tried and tested tactics. Thank you in advance!
Have you tried looking for your listing in private or incognito mode, as the public sees it? Make sure it's showing up. Sometimes there's something wrong within the platform and it's hidden, or hard to find. Both Airbnb and Vrbo will place you higher in the listings with professional or at least very good amateur photos for your listing. Vrbo wants you to revise your listing often, changing words and/or photos, adding photos. Both also want you to go through the editing section of your property and see if there are any amenities that you have that are not checked (sometimes the platforms add some new check boxes). And how are your ratings?

This.
And make sure that Airbnb hasn’t, without notification, modified your listing. Removed pictures, modified the location, amenities, etc.
This probably has a lot to do with visibility through the algorithm. Airbnb likes you to do things "their way" so having instant book on, flexible cancellation policies, pricing discounts on, reasonable cleaning fees, etc can all effect your visibility.
Regularly updating your listing—such as refreshing photos, adjusting the description, or adding amenities—can help signal activity to the algorithm. Keeping pricing competitive with nearby listings and maintaining good availability also helps with visibility. Fast response times to inquiries and consistently receiving recent positive reviews can also improve your chances of appearing higher in search results.
I posted my listing on here a few months ago and got pages of great feedback. I implemented a lot of the suggestions, and it helped a ton! If you post yours, maybe people could chime in with what they think could use some tweaking.
Before changing several things at once, I’d note when the drop started and compare the same dates and lengths of stay with your actual availability. A calendar full of short gaps can tell a different story from an open calendar that simply isn’t getting views. Then change one visible element at a time and keep a dated note, so you can tell whether the change helped rather than guessing which edit mattered.
