Airbnb - stopped showing tax collection

Posted

Did anyone else notice that Airbnb, in the last two weeks, decided to update their UI for guest booking details and stopped showing the tax amount?  Personally, I always like to see the tax broken out as to what was collected and is being reimbursed on my behalf since ultimately, I'm the one liable for tax payments.  It shows no where now.  It doesn't even show full guest payment anywhere (which includes guest taxes).  I called Airbnb and the ambassador I spoke with stupidly said it is lumped into the 15.5% fee I pay (Um, no, given my tourist / occupancy taxes amount to 11%, I am certain Airbnb is not eating that in their 15.5% fee).  How can they no longer disclose this?

Interesting. I'm going to look and see if mine is broken out or not.
