Hey all. For about a year now I have been studying, reading, and listening to podcasts on real estate investing. The time has come to start investing and I am eager to get my first small multifamily property under my belt in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area! @Logan Aldinger welcome to BiggerPockets! I am from your neighboring state to the west! I used to travel to Cedar Rapids for business years ago. My customer at the time there was Rockwell Collins. It always seemed like a decent area with good industry. Welcome and great to connect with you!

Welcome! I'm so excited for you! My husband and I have a local portfolio, like many others, as well as, serve as a general partner on a couple properties in Houston, TX (syndication). We started the same way, studying, reading, and listening to podcasts to get started and we haven't slowed down since beginning just a couple years ago. I quit my W2 job when we started to be more invested and aware of the local market and became a real estate agent. Feel free to ask any questions about investing and how we got started. Hi @Logan Aldinger congrats on the research and now taking the next step!! There is an eastern Iowa meetup that I'd highly recommend attending. I'm not sure if they are in person yet, but they have a really good turnout each month. From there, get cards and contacts and start networking!
