Hi Everyone!
New investor here located in the Maryland suburbs. For the past 5 years I have owned and operated a successful general contracting company doing remodeling work in the area. My interest has always been in real estate and good design though, and am looking to take the plunge into real estate utilizing my experience as a GC. My plan is to initially start with flipping, but the overall goal is to form a full scale real estate company including boutique development (flipping, condo conversions, single home building, small condo infill buildings, etc) along with a property management company for buy and hold properties. I am looking forward to starting this journey by learning all I can here.
Oh, and If anyone in the DC area shares similar goals and/or is currently doing what I've described, I would LOVE to talk with you!
I am new to these forums as well and I am in a similar position to you. Just starting out my real estate investing career. I have one buy/hold income property in DC right now but looking into getting another one in the near future and maybe do some flipping as well. Welcome to BP. I've been working in real estate for a while, but I'm new to these forums myself. From what I've seen so far, you're definitely in the right place; the advice and resources on this website are spot on.
My real estate goals are pretty similar to yours. My wife and I currently own a successful "boutique" residential real estate company, a property management company, and we just launched a development company.
