Rookie Canadian Investor looking to connect
Hi BP Community! My name is Livinus Brown and I'm a Canadian based investor with a few properties in Edmonton that I manage myself. I am sort of new here (been lurking in the forums since June). From what I've seen, this is the best place to be if you're serious about real estate investing. I'm looking to scale not only in Canada but the US as well. My goal is to purchase at least 1 MFR before the end of the year and more next year. I'm excited to connect with like minded investors and hopefully land a mentor in the process. I'm excited to start my journey here with you all.

@Livinus Brown Hi Livinus! I'm in Edmonton too and been focusing on multifamily new builds for past several years. Edmonton has been historically a great place to invest, except if you bought in 2007 and 2014... and 2025/2026 is looking like it will be a similar situation. Experienced investors are selling, holding onto cash, and preparing for the next opportunity to buy when market softens. Many new and out-of-province investors are buying and paying too much, so they will be at risk of foreclosure. Experienced investors will be there to snap up the properties at discounted prices. Be careful out there. What steps have you taken so far in buying your first multifamily? How has that been going?
