New Member – Banking Systems Engineer Diving into RE
I'm Sapling. I’ve spent the last 20 years working on backend systems in banking, especially around underwriting and risk evaluation.
Recently I've been expanding my own real estate portfolio (mainly looking into leverage and financing strategies), and coming from the system side, I've been noticing some interesting differences between how investors model deals and how banks actually evaluate them (DTI, stress tests, etc.).
I’m here to learn more of the “boots on the ground” side from experienced investors. At the same time, if anyone is ever curious about how underwriting logic works behind the scenes, I’m happy to share what I can from a technical perspective.
