Hi from the Detroit area — new member intro

Hey BiggerPockets — David Walters here, joining from the Detroit area.

Background: I'm a software developer and data engineer by trade. Over the last two years I've spent most of my spare time building data infrastructure for analyzing US housing markets — pulling Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com data together, building forecasting models, that kind of thing. Data is my comfort zone; real estate investing isn't, yet.

I'm here because every investor I've talked to seems to spend a lot of time pulling the same data from too many places before they can even start screening markets. I want to understand that workflow better — what questions you actually need answered, what data sources you rely on, where the gaps are.

Looking forward to learning from people who've actually done deals. Happy to share data analysis from time to time when it's useful to a discussion.

See you in the forums.
