I have some capital and am interested in new residential developments in the Houston area. Would like to not only be an investor, but would like to have some business/creative input into potential projects. Very little experience other than working with a GC in building a custom home, but enjoyed that very much and looking to diversity with some residential investments.

Welcome to BP! There's many people on here from Texas. Some of the more well known that do new construction are @Bryan Hancock and @Jon Klaus , they may be able to give you some direction.
Also, please upload a pic of yourself to your profile. If for some reaso you don't want a picture online, maybe a picture of a local attraction, sport, etc. (no copyrighted pics) To help you in finding information, you might want to fill in the keyword alerts too. (the type of investments you're interested in, area, etc.)

@Wesley Yuan Have you had any luck finding places to invest. I'm currently working on 3 spec builds and I'm looking at purchasing a few near by properties to most likely rent for a year or two before havering them demolished and build on the lots. If you're still looking perhaps we can chat and see if we're a good fit for each other.
