New Investor and new to BP

Hi BP Community!My name is Sean and I live in San Francisco. I am new to investing and new to BP. First off, THANK YOU very much for being so helpful already and creating the endless amount of content and info this site provides! It has been priceless for a newb like myself.I grew up in Roseville, CA and moved to SF after college (Cal Poly SLO). Any SLO Alumni? I am currently in sales in the dental world and love it. It allows me the ability to create my own schedule and schedule time to market for real estate investments!My background in real estate?I have completely rehabbed properties when I was younger (demo, roofing, landscape, electrical, install, etc.) As far as investing I do not have any experience. I have started a few marketing campaigns to wholesale properties and I will update with the progress.My real estate goals?Wholesale properties here in the Bay Area (if possible), buy & hold for cash flow and what really interests me is getting into the rehab game. I really enjoy taking something old and run down and making it new again. Making some money is great too!Please let me know if there is anything I can help any of you with! My current territory is ALL of Northern California + Northern Nevada! I can be your eyes and ears from Fresno to Redding!**I will be attending the RE Networking Summit this weekend and would love to meet all of you there!

You will love the diverse community and all the resources. So a great place is to look around the blogs, forums and listen to the podcasts for different niches. If you see a post you enjoy check out the persons signature. Many of us including myself talk about our strategies, styles, niches and business model on our website. So definitely check that out as it is an amazing additional resource. For example, my blog is about while working full time, buy and hold investing, 0% Down Rentals, Personal Properties turned rentals, Long distancing investing, self-managing 3,000+ miles away. Definitely list your blog or website in your signature, if you have one. Its a great additional networking source.

What's up! I grew up in SLO county, and have lived in Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, and San Luis Obispo. I went to Cuesta. Used to live in Longview between Campus Bottle and Cal Poly campus (go Mustangs!) for a while.. Moved up to the Sunset in SF to go to SFSU (which ironically will be back there this weekend for the big Summit!). I didn't start investing until the crisis, and now fix and hold in the East Bay. Focusing on Richmond and Oakland for the cash flow, affordable prices, limited land, and close commute to jobs.

And YES, there are people wholesaling in the Bay! In fact, a partner and I happily paid another BP member and local meetup networker $20K for a contract for the property we bought in West Oakland a few months ago. So whoever tells you it can't be done, don't listen to them!!! But it is a lot of work, marketing or "bird dogging," and a lot of persistence..

Welcome to BP! I am sure you will find that this is certainly a wealth of knowledge jammed into one small tight knit community. I could not be any happier with the people that are within the Bay area. They have all been very welcoming, and quick to provide knowledge on the local area. I hope you stick around, and get to the meetups that are regularly posted here on BP. Look forward to seeing you around!

Ya, AG High, I was an Eagle! (actually didn't play sports lol). I'll try to set up a meetup when I'm down there near Thanksgiving and maybe a few of us can get together and chat RE in SLO or Pismo Beach. Do you know more people in the area..?
