I'm Danielle- ripe ol age of 32 and DH and I just bought our frist investment home in Columbia, South Carolina at the end of January. We love it down here and our goal is to eventually own 5 inv. homes within the next 10 years.
We love it down here, but I don't tell anyone that since there are some awesome deals!
I work F/T as a wine wholesaler and DH is a senior financial analyst. We have 3 kids 4, 2,2 (yep twins) and we save all of my earnings after daycare for the next house purchase.

Yeah, we put down over 20% on the first home purchase and will do that again. With our money market at 3% I always feel like it's building too slowwwwlllyyyyyyyy..... but as my earnings go up hopefully we can meet our goals quickly as well. We've got 5k of the minimum 15k we want to have for house #2 with a planned purchase in 14 mos.
I'd love to see my twins investing someday! My parents own 3 rental homes themselves so we are following in their footsteps as well. We're hoping the properties will help us cash flow college someday. :shock: 3 kids in at the same time for 2 consecutive years will be killer!

I love the youth- USC has like 25000 students, so its a really alive, active community. The cost of living is really reasonable. The weather is great, except in August. People are really nice!

Its nice to see someone from Columbia here on the fourms as well. I am originally from NE PA. My DH is orginally from here in the Columbia area, born and raised. I agree, the people are nice, the area is nice, cost of living, taxes, economy and all is nice too. After we sell our commercial property thast we own, we would both like to invest more in the RE market here in SC. Good luck to you!
