hi I'm looking to invest in my first rental property and could use any tips offered by some of the seasoned investors.. I'll probably be looking for a single family and then expanding to multi family units

Hey Gregory,
Any luck closing the deal you presented at the REIA meeting? If not, mention it again or present another one at the April meeting...like Aislee said, "lots of deals get done at the meetings." Again, good job on your presentation and handouts!
I am not a seasoned investor, yet. I found the following podcast that talks about being successful in multi-family investing, I hope this helps and good luck!
My best tip would be to spend some time on biggerpockets, learning about some of the different avenues people use to build wealth in real estate. Then, find one you like and go for it. There is wealth of information here but I think it is as important to quickly pull the trigger and invest. Avoid that analysis paralysis/decision by committee that plagues so many people (myself included)!
I'm looking for properties in the Savannah suburbs right now. Are staying focused in Savannah proper?

thanks for the advice, I will definitely keep that in mind, and I'm not limited to the Savannah area only. I've also looked at property in the Augusta Georgia area but I'm leaning more towards the Savannah area bc I feel that it's job market is a little stronger... But my main concern is not investing in an area that will be hard to find good tenants tenants. So I'm more than open to any sound advice.

If you haven't already started, I would also suggest attending the Savannah REIA meetings - very informative and great way to network with local investors and other real estate professionals. There was a packed room at the March meeting. The next meeting is Monday, April 11th @ 6:30pm...you can rsvp through MeetUp.
