Hey Everyone,
I am a new member to BP looking to educate myself in REI and I think I have come to right spot. I am a transplant to Denver by way of Montana. I'm looking to invest back in my home state as I know the market better, it's a lot more affordable then Denver, and I would also like to move back one day! I am interested in all forms of REI but will first focus on single and multi-family buy and holds as well as a flip here and there if the opportunity presents itself. If all goes well my goal is to eventually get into self storage investments.
Hoping to meet some like minded members and connect with my fellow Montana investors. Cheers!

Welcome to BP Duncan! There's some great resources in this community. You probably already have done so, but check out the BP podcasts. There's some great interviews tucked away in that trove of banter.
I'm moving to MT shortly. I'd be interested in knowing more about your experiences investing there. Cheers!

@Duncan McKay, welcome to BP! Like @Ryan B. said, the podcasts are a fantastic resource. I would also recommend you come out to the monthly Bigger Pockets meetups; it's a great way to meet like minded people. If you search the forums, you will find information about them.
Congratulations on getting started. Use this beginning motivation to fuel you into learning everything you can about the business.
I wouldn't completely rule out in state. One thing I've learned is that sometimes Me and my personality/ sales skills/ knowledge of real estate is what makes the difference between a seller choosing to go with me or offer me that low price or not. There are many benefits to staying in Colorado even if it is overpriced, and many ways to do it even if you don't have enough money yet. Keep hustling!

Hi Duncan! It's great to see someone else from Montana, even if you're currently living in Denver. What area of Montana are you hoping to invest in? I've been keeping an eye on the market in Flathead County while working on a flip and searching for new multi-family investment properties.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. @Casey Cotter I'm mostly looking in Missoula where I went to school but am open to other areas as well. I haven't looked in Columbia Falls but Kalispell seems to have some good value properties.
