Hello!
I am Shannon Mendez and live in Folsom, California, with my husband and two children. I have always wanted to invest in real estate, and my husband is finally on board (super important!).
I am a Freelance Writer and Adjunct English Professor and would like to supplement my income while still having a flexible schedule for our family.
My grandparents invested in real estate, so I have seen how helpful that can be in retirement. (My parents have since sold everything, so I need to start from scratch.)

Thank you @Sydney Hall. Enjoy the weather in San Luis Obispo! I also enjoy home staging. I'm taking Interior Design courses and am still exploring if I just want to continue writing about it or if I want to actually do it. But I look forward to applying the techniques to our own investment homes. : ) Good luck to you!

Hi @Derek Jones. My grandparents lived on Fulton Avenue when it was a dirt road and later ran a hamburger drive-in on the property and then later leased the land to Pioneer Chicken.
For some reason, I'm attracted to historic homes that have been converted into office suites. I have no idea if that would be a good investment though. But I also like the idea of flipping and holding homes because I love interior design.
