Hi everyone! I started REI in the latter half of last year and let's just say I decided I needed a cheaper education than the one I was getting by just blindly charging in :).
I'm in Seattle metro area, King County. My main focus is the I5 corridor from Everett to Blaine but I'll take a deal wherever it leads me. Currently looking to buy & hold. I'm looking to expand my networking list - how can I find meetups in my areas? The Seattle and Tacoma forums are pretty quiet.
The BP community so far looks great, and I love the positive attitude and cooperative spirit.

Welcome Gabe! The BP site is an incredible resource from the forums to the blogs and podcasts. If you are logged in on the BP homepage, there is a section on the right hand side of the page titled “local events”. You can find meetups there. Also, you can find meetups on meetup.com.
I would recommend that you set up keyword alerts for the cities you are interested in. You will get notified whenever those cities show up in the forums. This will let you see who is actively investing or working those areas. Just reach out to those folks and BOOM
For Everett, you may talk to @Account Closed. He is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Keyword alerts are great, in fact, that is how I saw this post. I have keyword alerts for all the major cities in my area and it allows me to see all the conversations going on in my community. Its a bit last minute, but I know there is meet up tomorrow in Seattle. Below are the details. There may be some north end folks who show up, at minimum you'll be around like minded people and learn from them.

Real Estate Association of Puget Sound (REAPS) and Real Estate Investing Association (REIA) of Seattle are a great way to meet people. I have been networking there and like yourself have been learning for 6 months now.
Key word alerts work really well too! When you typed in "Everett" thats how I read about this post. Good luck to you and it would be awesome to connect with you at some point in time!
-side note- I am a member of REAPS and REIA and they aren't paying me to recruit people or whatever.

@Gabe Hall Welcome to BP! The Cascadia Investors Alliance has their North-end meetup on the 4th Monday of every month (7Pm at the Bob's Burgers in Marysville, WA). Would be a great opportunity for you to network with folks who are actively living/investing in the Everett area and North.

In addition to what the others have said, the Local RHA chapters do monthly "link" meetings that are free to attend and I always learn a couple things that make it worthwhile. It's a bit of an old school crowd, but it's buy and hold people that already own properties. A lot of meetups have a lot of newbies, which there is nothing wrong with of course. And we've all been there. But I'm looking to meet people that have more experience than me and the RHA people almost always have quite a bit of experience.
