Hi Everyone, 

My name is Harvey and I'm new to real estate investing and the bigger pockets family. I've been listening to the bigger pockets podcast and I'm wrapping up Brandon Turner's book on Rental Property Investing. 

I'm currently looking to invest in my first property and I have a goal to get it done before years end! Given that I live in the bay area, I know that barrier to entry is pretty steep here, so I'm looking in neighboring cities like Sacramento, Stockton and so on. For the time being, this first venture would be mostly self funded. 

Would love to meet some folks on the forum, so drop a line and say hi!

    @Harvey Fang I鈥檓 looking into Single family rentals at the moment. Not sure which market quite yet but I鈥檓 narrowing it down. I鈥檓 from Sacramento originally and would like to get back there eventually. Not sure that area is my best bet right now though.

    You get a lot more bang for your buck in vegas...lower propert values, lower property tax,etc.

    Hi Harvey, I'm from the Bay Area as well. I've been investing out of state but want to jump into the Sacramento and Stockton markets as they are more affordable than SF Bay Area.

    Hi @Harvey Fang! Did you end up buying something in Sacramento?

    I know that a few folks in the Bay Area with the same interest in Sacramento. Myself is looking to buying my first rental property in Sac. Maybe we should have an offline chat with a few of us.
