Hi everyone, I am new to Bigger Pockets and learning real estate

I created a Bigger Pockets account a couple months ago, but I have recently been working on it more. I have loved listening to the podcasts and just finished listening to the 50th show. This past spring, I graduated from the University of California, Davis where I was a student athlete on the division 1 baseball team and earned a degree in managerial economics. I have been working as a assistant vineyard manager in Napa, California since the beginning of August. After the holidays, my girlfriend and I are planning to relocate to the Seattle area where I have been looking to start a career in real estate. I have been looking for jobs the past few weeks and have had trouble finding companies that will accept new employees that have no experience in the industry. I have a deep interest in the real estate business and am willing to hustle to continue learning the industry. If anyone has any recommendations for how to get started, feel free to leave a comment or message me directly. Nice to meet all of you!

Welcome, @Matthew Blais ! Wow - a vineyard manager in Napa?? Sounds like you're already living the dream!

Have you met with any realtors who could give you insights on how to break into the Seattle market?  You can set up keyword alerts here on BP so that when someone posts about real estate in Seattle or specific suburbs you're considering, you would be able to track the conversations and find realtors with which to network. I'm sure your hustle and effort will take you far!

Best of luck to you and your girlfriend on your move to Seattle! I look forward to following your journey.

Hello! @Matthew Blais

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an "investor friendly" real estate agent.

There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
