23 Year Old w/ 5 Rentals in Dearborn, MI
Hello all,
I got started in real estate at 19 years old when I closed on a junky $59,500 barn-looking-house 4 miles away from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. I distinctively remember the fear of the unknown the first night that I slept in the place on an air mattress. No tenants lined up, aesthetic rehab planned, and a lot of motivation to live for free.
Fast forward: I got the bug somewhere around 2016 and continued to buy a rental or two every year. In 2019 I'll get another 3. My father helped me along the way with both acquiring financing and DIY. With great influencers throughout my life, being the next Dan Gilbert for Detroit is the goal.
Great to be here. Bigger Pockets has proven to be a phenomenal community of knowledge and helpfulness. Please, ask me anything I may be able to help you with. I know a little bit about college rentals, DIY, and grit. If you're in the area, I'd be happy to meet.
Best,
Alex

While I do not have any idea who Dan Gilbert is, I must say CONGRATULATIONS to you (and your dad). Great job! Keep facing your fears, keep investing and moving forward!
