Please allow me to introduce myself

Hi everybody!

I'm Aaron and I am a CPA working at a large regional firm in Manhattan.  I live with my wife in Hoboken NJ (we were married about 1 month ago) and when I'm not crunching numbers as an auditor, I like to cook, play grand strategy computer games (#nerd), and am currently starting to do standup comedy.

I am fortunate enough to have married a partner who is open to real estate and our plan in the next year is to cut our teeth on our first real estate deal. Planning on a buy and hold strategy for SFR and once we acquire our first property...the hope would be to grow at a healthy pace.

Being a CPA, I am very analytical and love getting deep into the numbers.  While my background as an auditor is within the retail/QSR/manufacturing industries...I have had some experience with real estate audits (no offense to real estate CPAs but AR and inventory is way harder when it comes to audit testing!).

I've been listening to the bigger pockets podcast for the last few months and am now finally taking my first steps into the forums.  I look forward to hopefully connecting with some of you making lasting friendships!

Welcome to Bigger Pockets!

This is a great place to learn and network. A lot of forum members are very knowledgeable in their respective fields related to real estate investing, whether that is real estate sales, wholesaling, flipping, rentals, lending, self-directed IRA and Solo 401k investing, or tax and legal guidance.

Discounts on some products and services are offered to BP members:

If you haven’t been to it already, you might want to check out the BP blog:

The site has quite a few tools that can be helpful for new members. I like the search features:

Thanks @Odie Ayaga :)  Unfortunately no.  My wife would not want to house hack but I'm just happy she's game for getting into real estate.  Right now I am doing a course through the Comedy Cellar but once I'm done, I'll just hop around doing open mic nights in the city.

For your business, do you focus solely on setting up 401ks for real estate or also for other business types?

Aaron, we setup both Solo 401k plans and self-directed IRA LLCs. Both structures provide investors checkbook control of their retirement funds and the ability to invest into alternative assets, such as real estate.
