Hello everyone,
I’m Dexter, I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California but as of next month, I will be moving to Portland, Oregon. I am looking to invest in Buy and Hold as well as Fix and Flip homes in the Indianapolis, Indiana market! I’ve been a private banker at a financial institution and I have worked with a mortgage banker for a few years now.
If anyone has some tips or recommendations on getting started in that market, it would be greatly appreciated.

Indy is a great market for Fix & Flips and Buy & Holds right now. A lot of Indy is pocket by pocket of good areas to invest in vs places you should stay away from, so your boots on the ground will be important.

Welcome to BP! I am in Indianapolis native and now an investor. Couldn't agree more with Brian's comments. There are tons of great pockets just blocks from no-go areas (obviously all dependent on your investment criteria).

@Dexter Lopez the most important place to start is getting to know the neighborhoods and which areas fit your investment objective. Indianapolis can be tricky because it can vary neighborhoods to neighborhood and even street to street. It's a good cash flow market but only if you buy in the right area. Of course you'll need good boots on the ground that can guide you and you can fully trust. We've been active in Indianapolis since 2010 and know the market and neighborhoods well.
