My name is Mike. I'm really glad that I found this awesome forum. There seems to be tons of great information here. I'm new to Real Estate Investing and can't wait to get started. Right now I am trying to decide how I want to proceed. I'm leaning toward working fixer uppers but haven't decided for sure. I hope to gain some of the knowledge here that I need to move forward. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hey there Mike! We're glad you're on our Awesome forum! :mrgreen: Fixers are a great way to start out. The problem that I find most investors have is improper budgeting. They think it is going to be much cheaper to get going then it actually is, and get stuck with unfinished rehabs. Do your homework. Be sure you know what you're getting into.
There are other good paths you can take as well. Keep reading and asking questions, and I hope you'll be able to get started on your profitable journey in real estate investing.
Thanks for the reply and encouragement! I do believe that budgeting is going to be key while getting started since I don't have alot of funds to start.
I believe that I do have a few things on my side... my wife is a realtor which will help tons. Also I am very handy. I have done several home improvement projects on my own home including a complete 23 x 14 addition.
I want to investigate other paths as well as you mentioned.

They have a member orientation if your thinking about joining and I went twice and learned a lot. They also have a class on RE investing for beginners that is free and that was really interesting too. You should check it out.
