Where I’m at right now and where I want to go

I’m 23 years old, graduated from university of Alabama may 2020 & currently employed in a 2-year commitment for a collegiate non-profit (ending may 1, 2022). As much as I’d love to begin my RE career this summer, I am the type of person that when I start a grandiose journey I have to finish it, & this is one of those. That being said, I have been studying on the weekends to get my affiliate brokers license & I’m obsessed with learning about real estate. I plan to get my license this May for the state of Texas. Once I get my Texas license I am going to go ahead and get my home state license as well, Tennessee. I’m a young buck coming out, & obviously don’t have a ton of cash flow coming in yet so I figured the best way for me to get ahead would to become more educated and get licensed so that when may 2022 comes around I can apply for jobs with some certification on my belt. While it will be great to have this certified licensure under my belt I would also like to have a community to learn from that is doing actual real estate deals.
All of this being said, do you guys have any things you you would recommend I do for the next 15 months that would help my continuing education? Any events I could attend in person Fort Worth/Dallas area? After I get my license what should my primary focus be?

@Peyton Boucek Congratulations on completing your degree! What was your major? What are you doing for the non-profit where you are currently employed? What about real estate appeals to you? (there are just so many ways to make money -- even if you are not yet ready to invest)
I think the most important thing you can do right now is to build and protect your credit score.

Thanks! Communication studies. I am a campus intern for RUF at TCU, it’s a campus ministry and we share the gospel with students. I’ve been interested in real estate for years now, my family has been in the business, I connect well with people and can sagaciously discern their needs. I want to be that person that points them to what their looking for. And I want to make money!
