No not because she had an affair, but because she's focusing full time on a Presidential run in 2012. She's burned her ships. There's something you need to understand about a woman like Sarah. When a woman like her gets attacked, she doesn't cower in hurt. She gets motivated. You can't win giving a person like this negative energy. They only convert it to motivation and the more you attack, the more you support them.

I couldn't disagree more and I can't wait for the chance to see it. Obama is as big of a joke as this country has ever seen.
From bowing down to the saudi king, to declaring that we are "Not a Christian nation", to disarming our military, to not not doing ANYTHING about north korea etc.
This guy is more of a national security risk then Bin Laden because he is killing our country from the inside.

First off, I don't watch FOX news...actually I don't watch TV period. So maybe I should point out to you that there are other ways to get news besides TV these days.
Your correct, there are other religions in this country and they have every right to practice their religion in the US. This country however was founded on Christian beliefs as you pointed out and we are in fact a Christian Nation. Just because there are other religions in this country does not change that fact.
Obama is just getting started and has already broke SEVERAL promises that he made during his campaign. As far as people against him, there are more then you think and that list is growing bigger everyday, just wait.
I don't support Bush and I think we should pull out of Iraq, but I doubt for the same reasons you do. I have had a lot of friends go over there and fight (and afghanistan) and my brother just returned from Iraq a few months ago so I do know what is really going on over there, not what the media tells us.
There is no point to have a US military presence over there, our troops are not allowed to detain terrorists, they have to call the corrupt Iraqi police to do that, so what are we doing there? We may as well pull them out and leave nothing more the CIA, special forces and sniper teams to eliminate terrorists, but that's another topic.

sorry this is a dupe post, I'm sitting out by the marina waiting for fireworks to start and my iPhone wouldn't let me adjust it.
There is a lot more that I want to say on this topic, but it's way too much to type.
What I do know is this though.... No matter WHO is in office, we would be having the same debates. We all did the same when bush, Clinton, bush, Reagan, Carter, etc etc etc and we will continue with the next administration and the ones after that.
I also think that many of these debates take away from the site as human nature is to put up an offensive and defensive front.
I am an icredibly political person an incredibly passionate about it, however, there is a time and place. In my opinion This isn't it. It does make for an interesting read though.

Giving Obama a huge benefit of a doubt here - I think he may have meant the specific audience he was addressing to interpret this statement to mean that the United States is not a Christian Theocracy, as they are an Islam Theocracy. We are not a Christian Nation in that sense. We are founded on Christian principles, but those same Christian principles that relate directly to our founding are in Islam as well.

The more that liberals here and in the media attack Sarah and try to denigrate her, the more I know she is EXACTLY the kind of Conservative we need.

I would LOVE to see Sarah Palin on the GOP ticket in 2012. During the year she was the VP candidate, I don't think I laughed so hard in my entire life...pure unadulterated (excuse the pun) hilarity...

Isn't that funny Tim. Remember how the media was so in favor of McCain, wanting him to get the nomination. They we're talking about him like he was the ONE.
I don't remember a candidate being slammed as bad as Palin, unless I'm forgetting someone. I agree, she is a true conservative. Palin's got my vote.

If McCain is liberal, what would you call senator Kennedy? An out right communist?
What make this country so hard to govern these days is that both parties were hijacked by their respective extremists. The pure capitalist / Christian evangelists on the right, and the Unions / MoveOn. org on the left. Anybody who wants to be elected, needs to pay their dues to those respective groups (Also called "The base") which make them unattractive to the independents. The reason McCain chose Palin is because he couldn't have his original choice of VP. They told him that if he made his choice against the will of his base he would lose. Well, he did anyway. All future candidate will have to rely more and more on the independents' voice since this the fastest growing political group in the country and most of them are in the center.

McCain may not be as liberal as Kennedy but he's still liberal and far from being a conservative.
I agree with you, I think a large % of this country is sick of the BS from both parties and therefore are moving to the center. I personally am disgusted with both parties.
It amazes me that in a country this size that McCain and Obama were the 2 choices we had for president, as if those two are the most qualified candidates in America.

I don't know. Is he? If you've ever lived in his backyard of Boston, you could certainly believe in him being a socialist. We haven't forgotten that McCain was liberal enough to be tapped by John Kerry as a potential running mate.

What amazes me is that a vast nation like the US, chose Bush as a president. Not so much because of his political views or agenda, but because of his intellectual capacity ... Or lack there off...

You see Tim, this is exactly the problem. Once, you choose someone from "The other side" you are automatically labeled.
Clinton's biggest achievements in my view, ( No,Tim, don't get smart with me, I'm not refering to Monica Lewinshy... :nono: ) were when the republican we controlling the house. That balance is what best for America.

What evidence do you have that even suggests Ridge, Jindal and Crist were ever "too liberal" to attract the conservative base?
Let's start with - Tom Ridge, the same one who was Bush's first Director of Homeland Security right? Yeah, there's a hard core lib right there. You think there may be another reason McCain didn't have a Bush Administration Appointee as his running mate? With the climate of 2008, it doesn't take a brain surgeon on this one.
As to Bobby Jindal, the only one who publicly speculated as to him being a running mate of McCain was Rush Limbaugh - and it was because he would identify with the Conservative base. Yeah, anyone who Rush Limbaugh puts out there must be far too liberal for the base. Beyond that, Jindal himself specifically said he "never talked to the senator [McCain] about the vice presidency or his thoughts on selecting the vice president."
As to Charlie Crist, I'm curious as to what you can point to in Crist's record that was liberal? His support of Capital Punishment, his attempts to ban gay marriage. Maybe it was his A+ rating from the National Rifle Association.
There is only one person who was "too liberal" for the conservative base in the last election. It was John McCain.

note that as recent as march of this year, charlie crist nominated an incredibly liberal justice to the supreme court. he had to choose between an incredibly conservative judge (lawson) and an incredibly liberal one (perry). he choose perry.
also, in past campaigns, crist was pro-choice and now claims to be pro-life. he voted against a waiting period for abortions (while a legislator) and supports same sex unions.
he's also forced through 3 executive orders that would reduce greenhouse emissions, require california-style carbon dioxide monitors on vehicles, and force appliances to meet certain energy standards. all of these were influenced by al gore directly.
i dunno tim, do some reading up on crist and you'll see he's pretty liberal.
liberal enough for fl liberals to not hate him and for conservatives to cry that he was elected.
