Anyone knows how to get rid of the squirrel who sneaks into the attic early in the morning and wakes everyone up with her stupid scratching?
I got up the attic area but didn't find any holes whatsoever, although half of the attic is not inspectable due to space limitations.
Any suggestions (humane as well as not) are welcome - please throw your ideas, but don't make fun. This creature needs to leave.

I had this problem once. It took a while to figure out if it was a squirrel or racoon (was a squirrel). Either way, you should be able to find the access spot by looking around outside. They need a spot to get in and usually do so by climbing in off of the roof. We located the hole and sealed it during the day. It went nuts (trying to get at its nuts) for several days but eventually gave up trying to get in.

It's a townhouse, so the animal might be coming from either side, not necessarily from the outside. I visually inspected from the ground, but didn't find anything....

I had this problem before, luckily this was while we were still rehabbing the house so there were no tenants in the property yet.
I used "Have a heart" live traps. You can get them from your local humane society i believe. Anyways, each night I put a glob of peanut butter in the trap and set them up in the attic. We caught about 7 squirrels. Also we found the hole they were using to get in and patched that up. The traps work great, however be sure to release them a few miles away from the house, because if you release them too close they will come back! Good luck!

With a forum screen name of "sniper" it seems like the answer is right before you. ;-) I used a .22 collibri bullet and created a blind with the sofa cushions. Timed it with a good game on t.v. and waited for the little freaker to show his face. One shot behind the shoulder into the vitals ended it.
