Indiana or Ohio for multifamily investing

Hello all!

Me and my husband are brand new to BP so we hope to gain some personal information on multifamily investing. My husband is active duty Air Force right now and we currently reside in Spain. He is in the process of transitioning out in December of this year and our main goals from half of last year and all of this year is to save as much money as we can for down payments on a house hack and a multi family duplex. We are in a debate on which state to reside in to start our journey to invest the next 10 years plus into buying and holding rental properties. Any advice or personal experience is much appreciated.

@Kelsey Stachowski Not sure how anyone else can answer that but you. Find where you want to live first then house hack a duplex there. House hacking is a great idea to get started and if you stay out of the NYC's and L.A.'s you can find duplexes just about anywhere in the country where the numbers work.

I do not think it really matters. If you are really indifferent then I would pick the city where you can develop the best cour Core 4. The core 4 is David Greene’s strategy for long-distance and made up of a realtor, contractor, property manager, and lender. Once you have this team in place, you should be able to confidently invest in any market.

I would go after a city with an increasing job and population growth. I invest and work in Columbus, Ohio.
