I revently say a video about a woman who built a tiny Lord of the Rings inspired hobbit hole BNB and did a little digging. She rents it at around $300 a night and has it almost completly book for the next year.
What are the legal ramifications of doing something like this? If your not selling any physical products and only renting out a space that has been decorated to resemble the set of a popular movie do you have to wory about any intilectual property lawsuits?
@Tom R. - I am not a lawyer or anything close to it. But here is my two cents. Will a giant company come after me for a single rental or two that was decorated with merchandise based on a movie, probably not. I see it as its not really worth their time. Now if a multi-million dollar development was based on a movie concept, now you might be wading into troubled waters.
