Hi everyone,
I was looking into buying a 4BR 1.5BA condo to possibly do section 8 housing here in Hawaii. Just wondering if anyone here has experience with HUD housing and if there is a minimum requirement for bathrooms to be eligible as a section 8 landlord. I haven't looked into the HOA bylaws yet, but based on the neighborhood it's in, I wouldn't be surprised if there were already some section 8 tenants already there.

There is no minimum number of bathrooms per HUD. I personally find that 4 bedroom properties with less than at least 2 full baths have a higher turnover than those with more than one full bath. You may get a tenant to move in, because they ran out of time, or there were few properties available, but they will always be keeping their eyes open for a home with more than one shower. Just budget for a higher than usual turnover rate than you would normally see for SEC 8.
