How to find fix and flip deals on the MLS?

Question

Hey everyone — I’m a Realtor and I’m currently on the lookout for fix and flip deals on the MLS.

I know most people say the best deals are off-market, but I’m wondering if anyone here is still finding solid flips listed on-market?

If so, how are you spotting them? Are there certain things you look for in listings or ways you filter through the noise?

Would love to hear what’s working for you.

I prefer buying on the MLS than any other source . Even if you're dealing with a wholesaler their comps were still done on the MLS . Its just as good to find it on the MLS and give an offer that you consider appropriate where it makes sense for all sides

Two ways I would recommend are to on Redfin and select the "fixer-upper" home feature to find homes that might need TLC or your MLS might have the ability to search for key words like TLC, diamond in the rough, etc...

If you know the details of the local market the deals are still there and in recent cases with us, we wonder how they were overlooked.  See what property sells for in an area and then look for properties that are marketed below the average - drive by and see why?  It may be smaller, it may be the worst house on the block . . . any number of reasons but do the numbers work.  Trying to do this long distance is often a recipe for disaster as neighborhoods even a short distance away can hold vastly different property values.  That deal can turn into a diamond or a lump of clay.  Be happy to discuss further with you if you want.  WSe have made some great deals with listed properties but remember, you make money on the buy not the sell . . . so getting it right when you buy is critical.
